Spill Fusion

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Ola, Senors and Senoritas….I’m still breathing fire from the Spicy red Mexican chilli I had yesterday…At least that’s what they told me it was…I could have sworn it was lava…I mean I’ve never seen a toilet seat melt away like that…Anyway, I will leave my bathroom stories for the campfires, lets get on to more important news.

News is that Spill Group, which owns 30 portals around the world, is officially partnering with Double Fusion, which is a leading video game advertiser. Spill Group is the name behind popular casual gaming sites likes GamesGames.come and the newer portal, GirlsGoGames.com.

The deal is that Double Fusion will now serve exclusive advertisements to both the above mentioned portals belonging to Spill Group. Both parties are said to benefit largely from this partnership, in terms of traffic.

Big partnerships and collaborations in the gaming world will keep happening, but how often do you get to drink tequila from a sombrero! I have got to be going, see you soon. Toodle Loo. Monkey See Monkey Do.

Women gamers on the Rise!

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Greetings from the Monkey King, hey, you, bow down Mister! That’s better…So how is the winter treating you all? I recently had my fur removed due to an operation which I’d rather not talk about…As a result I’m freezing my behind off and have to rely on fake fur (ugh!) and my women to keep me warm, not that I’m complaining!

Speaking of, Women as a target audience for game developers are increasingly gaining more and more importance, thanks to the success of games like Belle’s Beauty Boutique and Paradise Pet Salon. However, it is surprising to know that many men play these games too, and in essence their creators are catering to both the genders! It certainly helps if the game has both a male and a female perspective, the scope for a game which is universal is tremendous. The bottom line being, women may find games that are packaged a certain way more appealing, but in the end they want what men want from games – Engaging game play and fun content.

So boys, do not feel embarrassed playing games like Sally’s Salon…all the other pansies are playing it too! So long, Toodle loo..Monkey See Monkey Do.

EA distributes game version free

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

Salutations, comrades! It has been a biting winter for most of us and it may just get colder! However, it won’t last long, I’ll make sure spring reaches us soon, don’t you worry! So put away those ugly faux furs and frumpy sweaters, its Chimpoo to the rescue! It may sound to you like I’m making tall claims, but just you wait, come March, and you won’t be smirking anymore…

So a little mammal told me (birdies are so unreliable nowadays!) that Electronic Arts, the computer game publishing giant, proclaimed that it will be distributing a version of its immensely popular battlefield title Battlefield, for free on the Internet! Now that’s big news laddies!

This bold move just shows the wide shift that the video game is experiencing towards online game distribution – as a way of attaining newer audiences as well as taking advantage of novel revenue opportunities.

Okay, enough of serious talk, its too cold for cold shoulders now isn’t it! You didn’t get it? Never mind…Goodbye ladies, Toodle-Loo. Monkey See Monkey Do.

Well Hellllo all you crazy people! I’m sorry, I meant to say, hello, all you sanity-impaired people! This political correctness thing is getting to be a pain in the a$$! Anyway, did you miss me? Of course you did! Who wouldn’t miss a know-it-all, self-glorifying monkey!

So the other day, I was watching that show everybody keeps talking about, that same one where those people desperate to come on TV come and yell their lungs off…American Idol, yes that’s the one! What does this have to do with gaming, you ask? I say, SPEAk WHEN YOU’RE SPOKEN TO YOU LITTLE #^#&*(*&$@!! So I was saying, before I got rudely interrupted, (AHEM!) Ludia, the interactive entertainment company has signed a multiyear deal with Fremantle, the licensor for American Idol. According to this deal, Ludia will develop online games based on the popular show. More American Idol!!! Yipppeeeee! Sigh….This deal comprises of a gaming experience that includes elements like performance, social networking etc..Looks like they’ve got a winner on their hands!

So I’m off to carve out some turkey for myself…You just have to love opposable thumbs! Later people, Toodle – Loo, Monkey See Monkey Do.

Playstation Vs Wii

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Hello fellow gamers, a big bear hug from your old friend and mentor…Generally I don’t like making physical contact with humans, but today I’ll make an exception because I’m very happy! I’m just back from vacation in the Congo, where I met my long lost family…They were astonished at my success, and also a bit nauseous, but that’s just because of the horrid purple fever that was going around…Don’t worry, I have gotten all the necessary vaccinations..

Anyway, I heard that Sony has expanded its pipeline for its Playstation console this year. Sony CEO Howard Stringer will strive to contest with the Nintendo Wii using the PS2. The main strategy is going to be to have casual games and non-core gamer games to fight it out with the Wii.

That’s about it lamers, I mean, gamers…I’m in a bit of a hurry, its time for my next shot…Toodle-loo..Monkey See Monkey do
